MYOPIA CONTROL

Clear vision starts in childhood.

Myopia can progress by several diopters each year, particularly in the early school years. Early detection and regular check-ups allow us to:

– begin myopia control treatment at the right time,
– slow the progression,
– help prevent future irreversible eye damage.

What is myopia?

Myopia, or nearsightedness, is an increasingly common vision condition that typically develops in childhood and may gradually worsen over the years.

Children with myopia see distant objects as blurred, while close objects remain clear. This occurs because the eyeball is longer than normal, causing incoming light to focus in front of the retina instead of directly on it.

Myopia is not just about needing glasses—if left untreated, it can carry serious long-term risks for eye health, including an increased risk of retinal detachment, macular degeneration, and glaucoma.

Myopia does not go away, but its progression can be stopped or significantly slowed.

Regular check-ups are especially important if your child:

holds screens or books very close,
complains of headaches or tired eyes,
